Zálesie lighthouse (Zálesie)
This is a popular recreational area not far from the capital city, and it is suitable for relaxation and meat roasting. The short wooden round observation deck on the bank of the Small Danube river was built in 2014 thanks to the initiative of volunteers from the organisation Naše Zálesíčko (Our Zálesíčko Region).
The lighthouse serves as an observation tower and is a point along the hiking and cycling paths. The nearby Zálesie port is a regular stopping place of boaters rafting on the Small Danube river.
The circumference of the observation tower is 3.35 m, and it is accessed by a wide winding wooden stairway. On the observation platform itself there are 22 displays of animal species that live in the surroundings. They include the beaver, the great cormorant, the nutria rat and others. Below the lighthouse there is a sitting area with a fire pit.
